hey roomie,
a looooong time ago,
I was actually warned about it by gary tang and seniors in theatre club nanyang.
Many said that they won't join theatre again in JC, because they know that it would definately be different, and they don't want it to ruin their passion for theatre. Its about keeping beautiful memories the way they are.

I didn't really get it at that time, I thought passion is just going for it no matter what.
I joined theatre again.
I would say that tcn definately hold the fondest memories. The bonds with people and the whole are the closest too.
theatre experiences in jc are more technical, its good in the sense that performing skills definately improved. There are more exposures, more variety, more opportunities. But also more politics and more competitions.
The magical feeling that was always there no matter what role I played backstage or acting in TCN is no longer the same.
Times I wondered, would it be better if I followed the path of most of my tcn seniors.

Ultimately I think I learned that passion for a craft should not be affected by the people involved, although it still does to a certain extent la. perhaps thats why I'm still enthu abt joining theatre stuff tho Im now aware of the many potential politics and stuff in it. But like what tang used to say, its passion that brings and unites every diverse person together. especially when performing arts people tend to have strong personalities and sense of self.

seriously why stay if you're unhappy? sure there's the responsibility..but sometimes I guess you need to watch out and care more for yourself than others.. society seemed to mould people into that anyway.

to sum it up..dont think so much and just go with your heart! (:

PS: when are u coming back to hall?! miss ya!
